Solid, reliable plugin

This is my third time purchasing from WP Travel Engine, this time for the Group Discount Add-on. Like previous orders, the process was smooth and the plugin worked as expected right out of the box. I've been using their core plugin for a while now and it's always been consistent and reliable. Their products integrate well with my existing WordPress setups, which is a big plus. Support has been helpful in the past too, though I didn't need them this time. Glad I keep coming back.

Good value, minor snag

I picked up the Developer Plan during a sale, primarily for the WooCommerce Support and Payment Gateway Add-ons. Installation was straightforward and the integration with my existing WooCommerce setup went better than I expected. The features are robust and really helped streamline the booking process for my client. My only minor gripe was that the license key landed in my inbox after a couple of minutes, not instantly, which made me double-check my spam folder. But overall, a very positive experience and good value for what I paid.

Great features, easy setup

I just bought the WP Travel Engine Pro and it's fantastic! The Advanced Itinerary Builder made setting up tours so easy. I was able to get everything configured for a client project in no time. I'll definitely be buying more add-ons for future sites. Highly recommend!

Thinking about getting the WP Travel Engine Pro plan, but the pricing for the Agency plan seems steep. Anyone gotten a good deal on it, maybe a lifetime license or a developer discount?

D Deepak91 1 month ago
I bought the Professional plan a while back and got a good renewal discount after the first year. Not sure about Agency, but it's worth checking their support.

Renewal discounts are good to know. Thanks!

Did the renewal discount apply automatically or did you need a code?

I grabbed the Agency plan last Black Friday. The discount was pretty solid, made it much more manageable. They do have annual sales, so maybe wait for Diwali or year-end?

Lifetime deals are rare for their top tiers, but you never know. Sometimes they pop up for short periods.

N NikhilS 1 month ago
Do they ever offer a lifetime deal for Agency? That's what I'm really hoping for.

R RahulK 1 month ago
Yeah, I heard Black Friday is usually their best sale. Missed it last year.

I'm still on the free version, trying to figure out if the Pro features are worth the jump. What's the biggest benefit you guys found?

The Advanced Itinerary Builder and Payment Gateway Add-ons are game changers if you run a real travel business.

Yeah, and the User Dashboard for clients is super useful. Saves a lot of back and forth.

Just installed WP Travel Engine Pro, trying to figure out if I need WooCommerce or not. The docs are a bit confusing on that front.

C coolboy88 2 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
You don't *strictly* need WooCommerce for the basic booking functionality and payment gateways like PayPal Express or Stripe. WP Travel Engine handles that itself. WooCommerce integration is more for if you want to sell other products alongside tours, or use specific WooCommerce payment gateways.

C coolboy88 2 weeks ago
Exactly. I run my whole site just with WP Travel Engine Pro and a few add-ons, no WooCommerce.
5
S Sneha22 2 weeks ago
Ah, that makes more sense. So if I just want to sell tours, I'm good without it?

S Sneha22 2 weeks ago
Good to know, saves me a headache setting up another plugin.

T techfreak 2 weeks ago
I use WooCommerce with it because I also sell travel gear and merchandise. It integrates pretty smoothly for that.
3
T techfreak 2 weeks ago
Yeah, basically. If you need a full e-commerce solution for multiple product types, WooCommerce is useful.
4
S Sneha22 2 weeks ago
Interesting, so it's more for expanding your shop beyond just tours?

Does the mobile app come with the Pro plan? Or is that a separate purchase?
6
C coolboy88 2 weeks ago
I don't think the mobile app is included in the Pro plan itself. It's usually an add-on or part of a higher tier.
5
T techfreak 2 weeks ago
Yeah, confirmed. It's separate or comes with the Agency/Lifetime plans.

Can you actually use this with any WordPress theme? Or do you need one of their specific themes to make it work right?

G Greg Nguyen 1 month ago
It's supposed to work with any theme. I'm using it with a pretty standard Divi theme and haven't had any major conflicts.
6
G Gwen 1 month ago
Yeah, it should be fine. I've had it running on a custom theme and it integrated without issues. Might need a little CSS tweaking sometimes to match your site perfectly, but functionally it works.

Thinking of grabbing the Pro version, but is there usually a Black Friday deal? Don't want to buy now if a big discount is around the corner.

N Nick Reyes 1 month ago
yeah they definitely do Black Friday sales. Saw up to 40% off last year I think.
4
J Josh Y. 1 month ago
They usually have a pretty good one, like 30-40% off. If you can wait a bit, it's probably worth it for the savings on Pro.

Comparing this to WP Travel. Any real differences or just two similar plugins? Looking for something for a small travel blog.

M Mia 2 months ago
I used both for a bit. WP Travel Engine felt a bit more user-friendly for setting up trips, especially if you're not super techy. WP Travel has its own fans though.

C Carly 2 months ago
Depends what you need. WP Travel Engine is pretty robust for managing actual tours and bookings. WP Travel is good too, but I found the add-ons here better for specific features I wanted like the itinerary builder.

Does anyone know if the lifetime membership is still available? Saw some old posts about it but not sure if that's a current offer.

A Andre 2 months ago
I think they still do it sometimes. Usually during big sales or special promotions, not always just there.

D Daisy E. 2 months ago
Yeah, I picked up a lifetime deal during a holiday sale a few months ago. Keep an eye out around seasonal events, that's when they pop up.

Are those add-ons like Stripe Connect and Partial Payment included in the Pro plan, or do you have to buy them separately?

M Megan Q. 1 month ago
Some are bundled, but for Pro you get most of the popular ones. Check the plan details though, because some advanced ones might still be separate buys.
4
P Priya 1 month ago
I got the Pro plan and a bunch of the add-ons were included, like Stripe and PayPal. It's usually the bigger bundles or higher-tier plans that get everything. If you're getting a specific add-on, just make sure it says it's part of the package you're looking at.

What's the deal with renewals? Does the discount apply every year or just the first time you buy it?

J James 2 months ago
usually just the first year for the big discount. After that, it's full price unless you got a lifetime thing.
4
K Kate 2 months ago
Yeah, most of these types of plugins give you a decent discount for the first year to get you in. Renewals are typically at the standard rate. They do sometimes have renewal discounts but they're not as big as the initial purchase ones.
